Dr. Theresa Brightman
MSW, PhD
Dr. Theresa Brightman, an Administrative Assistant with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Division of Child Protection and Permanency, is also a social worker, educator, advocate, and wellness coach. She received a BSW degree from Coppin State University and an MSW from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Dr. Brightman also holds a Ph.D. in Human Services with a concentration in Counseling Studies from Capella University. In January 2015, she published A Phenomenological Study: The Lived Experiences of Obese Men and Women Following Bariatric Surgery.
Realizing her love for teaching, Dr. Brightman is a Lecturer-II at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a Sunday School teacher at her church. Socially involved in multiple community organizations, she is an Ordained Deacon, servant, and Christian.

Dr. Brightman is the founder of MorpHerSis LLC a platform dedicated to helping women embrace wellness through mindset coaching, scripture, and building community. Born and raised in Franklin, a small town in south-central Kentucky, she lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband, Musician Kevin Brightman. They have one adult son, two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
