We'd love to get to know you better. I will never ask you to do anything I'm unwilling to do myself, so I'll go first.
I am Dr. Theresa Brightman, aka Dr. T, wife, 'Man Mom,' advocate, believer, change agent, educator, empathetic, motivator, a social worker by profession, university professor, and writer by passion whose purpose in life is to serve.
More Dr. T
Believing that my entire life is a "calling," I know that formal education would assist me in doing and being all that I was born to be. I received a BSW degree from Coppin State University, an MSW from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and hold a Ph.D. in Human Services with a concentration in Counseling Studies from Capella University.
In January 2015, I published A Phenomenological Study: The Lived Experiences of Obese Men and Women Following Bariatric Surgery. Before this publication in 2000, I had a story published in Soul Food: Inspirational Stories For African Americans.
